PUBLIC STATEMENT

On April 25, 2026, coordinated armed attacks struck several cities in Mali causing loss of life and injuries among both civilians and defense and security forces, once again plunging already
vulnerable populations into anxiety and mourning.

Burkina Solidaire condemns these terrorist acts in the strongest terms. Terrorism, in all its forms
and regardless of its motivations, represents an unacceptable attack on human life, the security
of peoples, and the stability of nations. Our collective expresses its full solidarity with the Malian
people in the face of this ordeal.

Burkina Solidaire expresses its deepest compassion toward all the victims, without distinction,
and extends its sincere condolences to their families and loved ones. To all those whose lives
have been disrupted on this day, our collective offers its full and unwavering solidarity.
‍

Burkina Solidaire reaffirms that the protection of every human life, under all circumstances, is a
fundamental moral and legal obligation. The suffering caused by armed conflicts, regardless of
the victims, must never be trivialized nor accepted as inevitable.

These events, which add to years of hardship for the Malian people, confirm that exclusively
military responses are insufficient to guarantee the safety of populations and only serve to
worsen their suffering. Burkina Solidaire therefore reminds that lasting security that truly benefits everyone remains inseparable from democratic principles, respect for fundamental freedoms, and the effective protection of human rights.

Our collective calls on all regional and international actors to intensify their support for affected
populations and invites all parties to take necessary measures to contain the human
consequences of these clashes.

Burkina Solidaire stands beside the people of Mali and expresses its unwavering solidarity with
all the populations of the Sahel during this ordeal, with the conviction that peace, freedom, and
human dignity are horizons toward which we must collectively strive, never giving up.
